Physical vision wellness involves the proactive care of the physical eyes to maintain a healthy, clear and comfortable vision.
Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually]
3 John 1:2 (AMP)
Why Physical Vision Wellness Matters
Physical vision wellness is crucial, particularly in this digital age, where the eyes are constantly working, especially with screens that expose them to light and a lot of media competing for our attention. Without care, eyestrain and complications can develop, making it harder to focus, think clearly, connect spiritually, work at your best and live on purpose.
But when you intentionally practice physical vision wellness, you can
- Reduce eyestrain and the distractions it causes, helping you focus on living with clarity and purpose
- Read, work, learn, serve and observe the world around you with a clear vision
- Prevent and control eye diseases and chronic eye problems
- Prevent burnout and support digital intentionality through the practice of eye care habits like screen breaks and rest
- Strengthen spiritual sight by controlling what seeps into your heart through the eyes.
How to Practice Physical Vision Wellness
- Create a comfortable environment for your eyes while using screens. Set up your workstation correctly, position your screen properly and ensure that the lighting in your room is not too bright or dull for eye comfort.
- Protect your eyes against harmful screen light. Turn on the eye comfort app on your devices, use screen light filters and wear protective glasses, especially for prolonged and night use.
- Give your eyes regular breaks and adequate rest. Blink consciously while using your digital devices, take regular short breaks in between use and get a restful sleep at the end of the day.
- Get your eyes checked routinely to ensure they are functioning well and avoid being taken unawares by eye conditions that do not give early warning signs.
