Leadership and influence involve inspiring, guiding and empowering people to see and live with clarity and purpose by the way you live your life. It is simply leading by example.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
Why Leadership and Influence Matter
If we are going to raise a generation of people who see and live with clarity in a visually distracting world, the rapid multiplication of impact is essential. This happens when people who have committed to sightful living become lights others can look to for guidance and inspiration.
You can be that person. You do not have to be perfect to lead. You only need to be committed to the journey and willing to shine your light. It is not about position, but about daily choices that influence others toward clarity and purpose.
By stepping into leadership, you:
- Make it easier for others to practice sightful living, since people are often more willing to follow practices they have seen others succeed at.
- Help multiply and sustain the impact of sightful living. The more people we have living this way, the greater the influence that ensures that sightful living values are passed on to the next generation, and the less distracting the world becomes.
How to Practice it
- Lead yourself first. Be self-disciplined and mindful of what you watch, manage your screen time, and develop your spiritual sight. When people see your consistency, they will trust your influence.
- Be a role model. People often judge by what you do, not what you say. In the same manner, they are more likely to do what you do, not what you say as a leader.
- Use your voice wisely. Don’t only criticize or complain about distractions. Share what you know, offer encouragement, and point people toward solutions.
- Create a safe space for people to learn and get support. Start or join a community (online or offline) where sightful living pillars are practiced together, or provide a platform where people can access resources for the growth
Stay rooted in God’s word. Sightful living is not just about good habits. It is about living from your identity and purpose in God, and so you must reflect God’s purpose as you lead others. Spend time in prayer and communion with God and study the scriptures so that you continue to guide others toward clarity.
